Our Ambassador Justan Singh
Hi, I'm Justan, and I'm here to inspire and educate organisations on fostering relatability among their staff members. As an ambassador and trainer, I bring a unique perspective to the table - I have lived experience with a disability that has shaped my journey and insights.
I’ve developed the course “"Turning your adversity into a blessing". I made this so that others didn’t have to go through the heartache and suffer in silence like I did for over 20+ years.
About Me
In 1990, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, which led me on a challenging path through the medical system and extended hospital stays. I faced this journey without the support of friends, silently enduring the hardships.
At the age of 12, I faced the possibility of needing a colostomy bag, a prospect that filled me with apprehension. The sight of a large individual with a colostomy bag further discouraged me from pursuing the procedure.
When I turned 18, I encountered a near-death experience due to severe malnourishment. This critical moment became the catalyst for my personal development journey. Eventually, at 20, I embraced a colostomy bag, defying stereotypes and proving that ostomy doesn't diminish attractiveness.
My mission is to show people that an ostomy doesn't signify the end of one's dating, personal, or social life.
Professional Engagements
In 2020, I proudly served as the face of Crohn's and Colitis Australia Awareness Month, featured on posters and actively participating in the Live Fearless Challenge Month. I have collaborated with renowned pharmaceutical companies such as Takeda, Janssen, and Abbvie on internal projects focusing on patient well-being.
